That's an awesome shot man. I wish I had a crisp, clear view of the night sky.

I live in a city by the way. I also took some photos of the moon before it set, and shave my legs and call me grandma if it's not a smiley face today

Hahah it sure is!
I've never been able to get great views of the sky from city areas. Do you have a powerful zoom lens or something?

4x The thing is you don't need a zoom lens to shoot stars (not the case for the moon though). Just steady your camera and go for exposures of at least a couple of seconds.

how do you get the shots of the mood that you do? I tried using my Canon AT-1 SLR camera and it would never work for me. Please let me know. I have been very curious about this. PM if you have to.

Try aperture f/8 and a shutter speed of 1/125 sec (ISO 100). Should get you a nicely exposed moon.

Very nice pic! I don't think I've taken one of Leo, but I love astrophotography.
The Pleiades...

Comet Hale-Bopp...

Randomn sky over Redrock Canyon (near Las Vegas) with passing plane...

And just for kicks, rocket tests over California as seen from Las Vegas...

These are just a few I already have uploaded here.
