Dried poppies

Is it possible to eat powdered dried poppy pods, say a layer of them in the middle of a sandwich or something? Would this be as effective as making tea? The only thing I found on this was to watch out and see if they were treated or had pesticides used on them - but the ones I have are not. Stomach discomfort? Hm, any information would be helpful. Thanks!

Yes you can use raw grinds in your arrangement. But remember, Raw arrangements on a peanut butter sandwich are a lot stronger, so cut your dose.

Yeah you could eat the pod material. It would do it would feel the effects. It isnt the smartest way to go about it.Why not make some pod puddy or just tea?
Hell as long as your injesting the material you will feel the effects. You could even grind up the pods and put them in capsules, mind you it would take a shitton of capsules and I would only use organic, but you could do it like that.
Just do a water extraction.

Is there any reason that I havn't heard of this before? Seems like a way better method to me then digusting tea and especially since its stronger.

The reason being: you haven't looked hard enough! Seriously, eating raw grinds is the preferred method of ingestion for most regulars at that poppy site (wink).
It has several advantages: -no need to brew -last way longer -no waste of material ie more economical
On the down side if things: -might be harder to swallow (opinions differ on this one) -more chances of food poisoning
That last one is really important. When boiling the tea you kill most germs, that don't get killed when eating the raw grinds. So check you pods meticulously for molds prior to grinding.

Awesome, I appreciate the info! Yeah I didn't want to register on that sites forums, but I looked through their FAQ. I'm definetly going to try this tommrow.
Anyway to quickly reduce the possibility of food poisoning/molds? Maybe throwing it in the microwave for a few seconds or oven or something? All of the pods I have look super clean to me and not moldy in the least bit. I'll make sure to check them prior to making any floral arrangements though!

If they look clean, have no "hair", the seeds don't clump togethet with white strands, you will be fine. Just don't munch obvious moldy pods due to "economics". have a nice ride...
