Today I'm getting a pack of smokes, then I'm going to smoke them and get addicted. 38 years from today I will get cancer and it will all be someone else's fault

Smoke cigars instead.

ditto about the cigars.
The patterns of use involved in cigs are definitely a major contributor to the addiction (not to understate nicotine's role in the process ). We're programmed from birth to believe they go with everything. With your coffee in the morning, break at work, after lunch, another break, one to relax after work, one for the drive home, so on and so forth until your brain can't function without nicotine. But it's a nice buzz, IMO. Cigars are the answer. And no so deadly for your lungs (unless you inhale cigar smoke--Not reccomended).
I reccomend these cigars called M-1s. Inexpensive enough to be in the posession of a college student drinking the evil K-beer, yet delicious enough for me to remember its name through the drunken haze after the K-beer drinking student gave it to me.

That "smoke cigars instead" comment reminds me of my approach to quitting cigs. I rolled a LOT of little .2g joints, and every time I wanted a cig I would smoke a joint instead. Eventually you get _very_ stoned and can pretty much never make it to the store to buy another pack.

I quit yesterday.
I'd been smoking for three years prior to last night. You can moderate your cigarette useage if you really want to. I smoked no more than two packs a month for three years straight. If you don't feed an addiction I see no reason why one couldn't enjoy cigarettes sparingly for the rest of ones life without any severe negative effects.

Yeah, I go through about two packs a week, which is an improvement. But I'm definitely trading in my cigarette habit for a tasty cigar-a-day habit, as my income improves. CAO Golds, Rocky Patel Sungrowns, Don Lino Afrikas...mmmmmmmmm

That's a sound plan. Best of luck to you.

I smoke only around 5-7 cigs a day, I've been smoking since the summer.
I'll probably quit pretty soon

I have smoked for 10 years now. It tends to go in waves for me... sometimes I smoke a pack a day.... sometimes I smoke 2 packs a week. I only smoke cigarettes with no chemical additives like Dunhill, 555's, and Rothman's. I was surprised when I switched to non-chem smokes. After two days of smoking them I was in withdraw from want of Marlboro's. I find that after smoking non-chems for a few months now, I can easily go longer periods of smoking without noticing it.
Just my two cents, Capedo

This is a retarded idea. Why would you start smoking? The only regret I have in my entire 24 years of life is that first pack I bought. Now smoking gets in the way of everything.
