I went for a stroll in the mountains this morning looking for anything and everything, and I stumbled across some mushrooms growing on a log. I took some pictures, but the Digi cam was horrible and un-focused. so I will describe them to the best of my ability.
The entire mushroom was a semi-translucent orange color. The cap was about the size of a dime, no stripes. some matured ones around had more of a decaying brown color. the stem was long and skinny also orange colored. underneath the cap was perfectly symmetrical gills. and everyone I found was growing on a type of wood. it was very moist out with no shining through the clouds.
sorry bout no pics, but any guesses? if they are possible actives I will go back with a better cam.

The azures would not be growing on a log and their season is October through December until the frost.
Especially in the Hamond/Astoria coastal region of northern Oregon.

Although they do occur in similar habitats along the PNW coast between Astoria and south of the Seattle area in some man made environments.

ummmm..... no, they are deadly, but i suppose you might get good and high right before you die, too bad you wont remember it or be able to act on your new knowledge. http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Galerina_autumnalis.html http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...ficial%26sa%3DN
those are galerina autumnalis, probably what you saw
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...ficial%26sa%3DN
those are azures
http://www.mushroomjohn.com/psilocybecyanescens.htm
those are cyanescens, the active "look alike" to galerinas, and what lots of people are looking for when they decide to eat galerinas and get die
hope that helps
