Hey guys. I was wondering if these 2 spots look more like rhizo growth or fluffy growth. Shoudl i transfer each one to grain, or let them grow out some more?

Why are there streaks across the agar like that?
How deep did you fill those petris?

You ideally want to let the mycelium colonize as much of the petri as possible, then you take wedges of that. Otherwise, you are wasting 90% of that plate.

Those plates are full of either bacterial or yeast contamination.

It is potato dextrose yeast agar. That one was pored rather thin. Those streaks across the agar is where i rolled around the excess water from the syringe inoculation. I dont think its bacteria or anything unless my syringe was contaminated.

wrong forum. those plates are contaminated, but plenty of people in mush cult can help you decide what to do next - chuck in the bin or chuck over the fence.

good luck in your early efforts, come on back when you're ready for some advanced mycology?
