I went to 3 different pet shops and with the acception of pet smart who is sold out and dosn't know when and if they are getting any in, nobody has oyster shells by them selves. Calcium Carbonate i think is a lost cause for me around here. Any ideas?

Try your local farm/feed store. Most have what is called "layer special" crushed oyster shell. Farmers add this to chicken feed to boost calcium in a hen's diet hardening their egg shells. Put a handfull in a bag, take a hammer to it, and viola. Boiled, powdered egg shells also work, but they're a real pain in the arse.

Petco has crushed coral sand which is made 100% Calcium Carbonate. Just buy that and go to town on it with a hammer. It's already crushed up into pretty small pea sized pellets and it's very brittle so it won't take much to pulverize it into a powder. I made the mistake of putting it in my coffee grinder and it bent the blades all out of shape lol.

Thanks for the heads up but I posted that 4 and a half years ago.... I have since never had a problem finding everything I need.... Think it is kinda funny that even years after a post people still comment on it

Haha, what's up man, I remember seeing you post here and there on my posts. I am going to be around a little more since my last grow over a year ago that I made a extract out of has been just about used up. Not too bad for one grow, got to trip 2 times a week with 1-3 friends for over a year is pretty good. It is also good timing since me and my girlfriend just broke up and I need something to keep me occupied so I stop dwelling over it.
