Lighting (OH NO.. ANOTHER ONE???)

Sorry about the post regarding light, i'm sure all of you have seen/answered at least 25 of them. I did some searching on the message index here, and other such sites. There seems to be little support for large terrariums. I have a 2x4x6 (lxwxh) terrarium. Inside, there are 6 shelves, spaced 12" apart. Now this is where the problem begins. I am upgrading from a small terrarium which used slant shelves, and had a single light inthe middle. The question here is do i need lights on each of the 12" spaced shelves in my 6' high terrarium, or would one at the top do? What about a string of outdoor christmas lights, running across the top of each shelf. I am just worried that not enough light will pass through the shelves down to the bottom of the terrarium. (btw, the shelves are the wire grid ones like from your refridgerator) Thanks for any replies.

Light is very important. Length of time and the intensity of light has a direct impact on yields. This is a fact. Anyone who tells you differently shouldn't be commenting on the subject. Since I have no idea what your setup looks like, II can't give suggestions on how to place your lighting. Try to use as few lights as efficiently as possible. This means you shoud be creative in where you place the lignts in relation to the growing area.

I'll get a picture of teh setup on later. but basically, it is 2x4 foot, and 6' high cabnet. it has 6 shelves which are 2x4 each, and there is 6 of these spaced 1 foot apart running up the inside. so there is 7 places (including the floor .,.. kindda) where trays are going to go. bottom will be for pinning, since its sluttered with tank bubbler, humidifier, cords, etc. So basically, i need to deliver light to 6 shelving units the trays that go on the shelves (4 per shelf) pretty much cover the entire 2x4 shelf. the opening runs the total height of the shelf system, so you basically open up the front and look in on all 6 shelves. shelves are 4' wide, so would one light per shelf, or one light in the top, or even a string of christmas lights running across the top of each shelf be what i need? I'll TRY to get pics on later.
