this makes no sense

ok, heres the story,
FOAF has a big terrarium with an ultrasonic attached to the top and the moisture steady stream of humidity seeps in. This worked fine for the top 2 shelves, but the lower ones werent getting enough. FOAF decided to get 2 small fans and hooked thwm up insde. After about 5 min conditions were the same throughout. Then about 2 days later all his casings seemed dry and there was a layer of what looked like hard, dry myceleum on some of them that were in their seond flushes (but were fine til this point). There was a thin white layer over most all the mushies growing, and the larger ones whose veils were about to break just stalled. What going on? Is constant fanning bad even if the humidity is around 90?

With the fans, perhaps you're blow drying?

if it is possible i would tell your friend to try and lose the fans and put one of the tubes all the way down at the bottom. if that works then try and use one or both of your fans for air exchange, if you have too much or too little of something try using timers. i know you cant proably drill at the bottom due to tempered glass, so just put the tube through the same hold in the lid, just dont cut it off as short, let it go all the way down.
