Some questions with some pictures.

First off, I just had my best flush ever Here are some pics.

Previously I used a paper plate holder on top of a big bowl, with a fan on top but this flush is way too big for that. I bought a Ronco dehydrator but I don't want the heat so I took all but 2 trays out, the top off, and put my fan over top of that. The fan covers the top holes almost dead on so my question is, will this successfully and thoroughly dry my mushrooms?

My second question is about spore printing. I never made one, never felt the need to make one, but I want a memoir of this grow so I folded up some tin foil, put it in a jar, and covered the jar with a plate (couldn't find a lid). Is this sufficient for a print?

Thanks guys!

You shouldnt have folded the foil over them.. they need to breath.. just lay them on some foil then place the jar over top of that.. let them sit over night... BOOM instant spore print

It SHOULD dry your mushrooms ENOUGH. Won't be as good as a dehydrator though.
Aaanddd, that should be ok for your print as long as you have sterilized everthing with alcohol. But you should reverse it next time. Put the foil on the plate, and the jar on top of it. Either way, you should get a print. And the spores WILL drop. I have some wait 3 days before they dropped, dunno why, but they did.

your spore print problem I can't help with. But as for your little Ronco dehydrator. I have that same thing. The heat is fine. I use it all the time and get potent mushies, let them dry over night and bam, cracker dry mushies. The actives in mushies don't start braking down until you usally hit 180F-200F. If you got a high temp guage, like a candy temp thing, just stick that inside it. Just turn on your dehydrator, they'll be fine, I promise. Good luck!

You can add a high amperage dimmer switch to your ronco dehydrator to lower it's heat output.

I just meant the foil was folded up so it would fit in the jar. I didn't cover the cap with foil. I took your advice though, I reversed it so the jar is over it. Thanks for the help. As for the dehydrator, how long does it take to heat up, or do it its job? I plugged it in before and 2 hours later there wasn't much heat and the mushrooms were still cold and moist. With fan drying, after 2 hours they're already wilted and half-way dry.

I think usually overnight. I suppose it depends on heat, moisture in the air, etc..
You should be feeling some heat coming out of the top of the ronco within an hour of turning it on though.
