Yard Work

Today I did a bunch of shit around here. Raked leaves, prepped/planned garden, cleaned rose beds, etc. I used to hate doing this kind of stuff when I was younger, but now I actually enjoy it. Knowing that my labor will provide me with quality food, and an attractive home, makes it much more bearable.
Anyone else got yard work to do? More specifically, who's gonna have a garden this year? Maybe just some vegetables, or herbs, in some planters even.

We've been doing yard work for like a week now. Cleared leaves, roots, etc. Took a looong time because we have a fairly big plot of land. We tilled the soil with a big soil tiller and used the leaf blower a bit, and then planted some grass seed. We're waiting for that to grow a bit and then we'll plant a garden

We're probably going to plant some bulbs and some roses. We have a greenhouse in our driveway so we're going to ask some of the workers there what plants will work well in our environment. I like daffodils a lot so I'd like to plant some of those.

I got 2 acres of yard work. I just bought a home in the hills and it's covered with blackberries, damn near impossible to get rid of, but they provide excellent cover.

Nothing wrong with sitting in your garden growing drugs, thinking to oneself, "I bet the efforts put forth into this plot of land will get me laid numerous times."
I am planting poppies (for breadseed, of course), got salvia, going to start Cacti plantation for the eventual move to Arizona, going to get a nice little misted greenhouse for my Banisteriopsis caapi and then I'll give the Caapi some Amazonian friends to make oxygen with...
Morning glories to cover the fences and grow up and over various structures... plus a few other ornamentals here and there...
Going to plant some grafted apples, perhaps a grape vine, that I grafted in Plant Propagation class. Would love to get a miniature citrus grove going, a nice Brugmansia to the side of the garden and I would like to get my Passifloras to flower... which will surely bring even more vagina via botanical achievements.
Oh, and of course some sinsemilla (Northern California native, I am)
Even if I don't get laid for my efforts, I will still be able to get high to console the lack of phallic-to-female contact.

We've got 50 acres of land here and we're in the process of figuring our if we want to clear a small section of the trees and have a bigger yard or not.
We're also going to be building a treehouse and a cabin back in the woods, and we're going ot have a separate more "private" garden out by the cabin, since it's deep in the wooded area, and the whole property is surrounded by a huge stone wall.
I like the idea of planting some poppy seeds...maybe we'll do that too!

I'm getting a cutting off a vine in my grandmother's yard. Been there for 50+ years. My grandfather used to make wine from the grapes, and I shall now proudly carry on that tradition. Maybe use the leaves in some cooking as well.

That sounds like a beautiful place to live. As for me, I live in an apartment so my garden will be small. This place does have a small porch-like area which will provide enough space to do a decent amount of vegetables and some flowers. A friend and I also get to tend his brothers garden this year which will have a wide variety of consumables. I love gardening and can't wait to have a house of my own to really do something nice with.

I also did some yard work for a little while. Raked leaves that were over my field for poppies and tilled up the ground.
But I couldn't finish it since it was raining 90% of the day. But we needed it it hasn't rained in about a month or two here. Yard work is also good exercise and you accomplish something such as preparing a garden, making your yard look better. I'm creating a big rock garden which will have a pond and all types of cool shit.

Yeah, it's great, like I said, we just moved here and from a very small place ourselves, the only down side is the hour commute, but I wouldn't trade it for the world, I'm groing Salvia, HBWR, Nicotiana Rustica, Mimosa, morning glories, Mexican poppy, Psychotria, Syrian rue, Phalaris grass, and a full vegetable garden. And I'm planning on building a green house sometime before fall.
