This is my sugar glider...Skylar,hes an exotic animal from australia/indonesia.I got him like 2 weeks ago..so we're still in the bonding process so i can earn its trust. Also hes a marsupial...so in his cage I had to put a bunch of pouches and a coconut hanging around so he can sleep in there and chill. This is probably the coolest pet i ever had!

It sickens me as to why anyone would want to keep an animal like that as a pet
Sugar Gliders should be free to glide through the tree's, not confined to a cage!

I agree that. Any animal that has to be confined to a cage should not be a pet.
But, to each their own.

Actuallt amatoxin...you can get a play net around yur room for them to glide around in...and most ppl let them out and play when they trust the lil guys.Anyway he cost me 250 dollars with a cage...I got him from a breeder from long island. They eat all sorts of stuff...insects,fruits,veggies and some meats.

I thought you were supposed to buy those things in pairs?
I've been told they get lonely otherwise... this came from a guy who runs an exotic pet store.
They are excellent little creatures, i dont think my conscience could let me keep one though...

Shit. As much as I love mine, It's one of the few things I regret. Sugar gliders should not be pets. If you get a pair of males, neuter them both, or they will be much harder to bond with, and have a chance of attacking each other. When getting the two acclimated to eachother, put them in different cages and put them close to eachother, and play with them both in a tent.
To help with bonding to it, Cut up an old T-shirt into small rags, and tuck them into the waistband of your pants. After a day or two, put the rag from your belt loop into your little guy's pouch in it's cage, so it gets used to your smell night and day. Carry him in a pouch when you're out during the day, put your hand in with him. Carry extra pouches they aren't potty trained.
PM me if you need any help.
Part of the reason I think Sugar Gliders are a bad idea, is the lack of vets that specialize in exotics. When a sugar glider gets sick, it can die very quickly. They are also colony animals, and are supposed to be in large open areas.
But most of all: good luck

That's a very cool pet. I'll buy one soon. They breed them like chinchilla. I don't think it's right to have them in a cage but when I had my chinchilla, I'd always leave his door open so he could wonder my room at all times. Make sure to hide all the wires And DON'T pick up any couches or anything looking for him. Nacho (the chinchilla) was hiding under a lazy boy couch I lifted up and Somehow I pinched him underneath by accident. He died in my hands. I was quite upset for a week +. It was my fault too. I hate to see something like that happen to you. Nacho was only confined to his cage when he was BAD... He knew it too. What's the poop situation like. Do they have a set spot or do they crap little pellet all over your room. Or do they take a dump in one big pile. Weird questions but it definitely make a difference if your going to buy one. Post more pics please. Ps I bet your s/g is a babe magnet too. Girls would always be like "Where's your chinchilla" It's in my pants baby hehahe!

That wasn't my advice, but since you did it, you should go ahead and cook them. Waste not, want not.
