soooooooo.........I spawned some BRF cakes to poo on 3-24, about 8 trays worth.............
I had them colonize at a little over room temp, 78F, and recently tried to "make-shift" incubate them....... (i had them sit in front of a small space heater for an hour at a time for a few hours a day.....)
Saturday, I noticed that they were kinda dried out and pulling away from the sides of the tray........sorta like overlay, but in poo....... I'd say that they were 90% colonized on the top with lots of knots turning very poofy........... but then there was 10% of spots that were colonized, but very light brown in color......... (sorry i don't have any pictures.....) just like overlay in casings, is it possible that my top layer of knots and mycelium are dead from drying out???
There was still a few droplets of moisture collecting on the surface, but the foil i had over it significantly showed less and less moisture collection.....
so, yesterday night, i decided to throw them in the fruiting chamber....... I misted the tops of the trays, and threw them in a tub with wet perlite at the bottom.........
I'm kinda worried about putting them in with those spots that weren't fully colonized....... I figured that they would colonize eventually, and just be beind the rest of it..........resulting in a somewhat uneven pinset..... which is no big deal to me........
is that what will happen?? or am i horribly mistaken??
I just figured that, because they were so dry, i should go ahead and get them a little wet, and knock up the RH level..........incucing fruiting, and helping the tray retain more moisture.......
Will this even work? (i'm hoping so.....)
Also, i was planning on using the "wax paper" method. Instead of a casing layer....... I am going to wait about a day before applying the wax paper.......
let me know what you guys think, any tips or suggestions would be awesome....... thanks guys!!!!!

may i suggest starting off here: Shroomery - Mushroom Cultivation then wade your way through this: Shroomery - Site Map and when you're COMPLETELY READY, go here...: Shroomery - Agar - Mushroom Cultivation
but if you're a newbie, look around the main site for the right tek for you.
I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do, but i reccommend studying this site a whole bunch before doing anything.
