Anyone here try studying while stoned? I've been at this material for like 4 hours and I'm starting to get a headache and wanna smoke a bowl. Worried my brain will cease to function once I do...

I find being full-on stoned doesn't help me with studying. But a hit or two to get a buzz going will take the edge off and doesn't make me forget what I just read 2 minutes ago.

i only study my botany while high. i like to experience my subject matter. photosynthesis is so much cooler than they make it sound in 8th grade. but seriously, smoke up and read. not too much though or you'll forget every sentence as you read the next.

Well if you've never tried it then go ahead and take some fat rips and see how it goes. youll either find more enthusiasm in your studies and memorize everything perfectly (doubt it), or youll relax for a while and eat a nice meal and end it off with a very long nap. just take the steps to knowing how you function.

I'd probably smoke regardless if I had to study or not - back in my smoking days. That's not to say it would really help though.

don't study stoned, you will definitely not be able to recall things from your memory as good as if you learned it sober.

I used to be able to study stoned, but now if I have a lot of school work to do/papers to write...I can't even smoke at all ever, because it makes me forget everything.
I think it's cause I'm old now and my brain has lost its elasticity lame.

I got an A+ on my environmental studies final, one of 4 in a class of 50 or so, after studying on the beach stoned.
(results not typical.)

If you think everything except the material is interesting now, It'll be 100x worse when you're stoned. I vote negative. Just cram and then smoke

In the community college (first two years) I was able to get good grades while stoned all day every day. This is no longer the case, as my subject material is now much harder, and I dont have the luxury of smoking ever.
Bottom line, depends on what you are studying and how hard it is. Being stoned never helps, unless your emotions are running high, and you need to relax.

smoke up a little...just a hit or two...it makes studying fun.
smoking a full bowl to the face is probably a bad idea though.

"Regular heavy marijuana use compromises the ability to learn and remember information primarily by impairing the ability to focus, sustain, and shift attention, says Dr. Harrison Pope, Jr., of McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts, who directed the recent study. Noting that the actual ability to recall information remains relatively unaffected, Dr. Pope says, "If you could get heavy users to learn an item, then they could remember it; the problem was getting them to learn it in the first place."
http://www.nida.nih.gov/NIDA_Notes/NNVol11N3/MarijMemory.html
While I don't always believe everything I read, this study does reflect what I've often found in my own experience, as far as studying (or attempting to) WHILE under the influence of marijuana. I can easily recall information, but the process of learning new things is usually impaired. It's so much harder for me to study stoned, even a little, than being plain sober, or maybe slightly buzzed from a beer or two.
