Regular Light Bulb Or Indirect SunLight?
    #5472398 - 04/02/06 09:15 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Alright Everyone. I might have a problem. I had the cakes in 2 liter bottles sitting by a window. With sunlight filtering throught the blinds. I fan 3-4 Times a day and made sure humidity is kept high. Well one of the cakes acually started growing mushrooms and to hide it from guest i put it into a closet with a regular light in the ceiling thats kinda high i guess...But now those mushrooms came and gone and the other cakes have not done nething. Was the indirect sunlight what did the trick. If so i can put it back into it but just wanted to make sure this was it? Lemme know please, Thank you

The lighting source really shouldnt matter if it is sunlight or regular light. The only thing that I can think of is your humidity must have changed. Cakes should be at around 100 percent humidity the warmer your chamber the more humidity the sun may have been heating the FC

yeah the type of light does not matter. i had a problem once with a low watt blue light that was too fat away, shrooms did grow but slow and not to tall, i switched to florecent, wich was

a) much brighter
b) lower wattage
c) never got hot so could keep it litterally on top og the FC.

this initiated pinning much faster. the sunlight could have casued the temps in you bottles to rise wich makes the fungus want to continue to grow mycelium.
