Cakes Edible?
    #5472247 - 04/02/06 08:37 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

I have a cake with a few pins growing on it, would it be safe to consume this thing? Would I trip at all?

I know, I've read posts from people who have eaten them before though. Does the fungus contain Psilocybin, if so, would a cake covered in it make you trip?

i believe horticultural verm is clean but ist expanded mica which is still not good to eat. fruit the cake then then lay it to rest respectfully don't rape the cakes by trying to exploit them heh be happy with the fruits of joy they give you.

Cakes do contain the goods, and no you cant eat cakes or you wouldnt want to.

I have boiled spent cakes and enjoyed them, I hope what I used was streight vermiculite, a type of water retaining rock.

"no they definately would not work" Would be on my top ten list of dumbest and most uninformed things I have read. Because it most certainly does work.......

vermiculite: Any of a group of micaceous hydrated silicate minerals related to the chlorites and used in heat-expanded form as insulation and as a planting medium.

Hmmm, i smell a rumor.

The first time I tried it I used one cake and got the same feeling. The next day I tried the 3 cakes, and got to lvl 1. If I hadnt done it the day before it might have been much stonger. (I used the cranberry extraction. I didnt eat the cakes)

I guess when you think about, anything can make you trip, if you really want it to.

From what I've read, making tea from cakes is just a waste, and provides nothing worthwhile.

Dude, you dont have to keep sticking up for that idea.
Boiling Spent cakes, is not a waist. The older the mycilium the better, so spent cakes are ideal + there are small parts of picked mushrooms all over the cake.
It works thats for sure. Also, if you use enough spent cakes, its not just a "body buzz".

Most of all I really dont understand where you were coming from with the, "I guess when you think about, anything can make you trip, if you really want it to" comment.

The only thing that sux, is that if you make the tea from the cakes, you wouldn't have a clue on how little or how hard you would trip. I imagine the potency varies dramatically from cake to cake.

I'm also thinking about trying this out tonight. How many cakes that are 75% colonized would I need to get to get a good trip?

three posts in a row, what is this OTD!  One, everything is not a carcenogen.  that is a blanket statement, and is no use here. AND if you eat cakes, with vermiculite you will get
