Radio Shack Hygrometer Not Working

I went to Radio Shack and bought a 63-1030 Temp/Hygrometer gauge today for 29.99.

I placed it in my incubator and let it sit for a few hours to see what the temp was and what the humidity was... It was about 83 F and 97% rh.

I pulled it back out so I could place it in my Grow chamber I just made to test it out before I need to actually use it. It had read in at 73 F and 92% rh earlier....

This time it read 74 F and 98%. I didnt believe it

I took it out and placed it on my kitchen table... and it has been there for a couple of hours.... it still reads 98% rh.... and I KNOW my house isnt 98% .... it's more like 35%

WHY WONT IT GO DOWN?????

I noticed some water dripped out of the holes in the bottom of the unit whe I took it out.... Could it just be moist inside from perhaps getting some water splashed in it?

Has anyone else experienced this?
Help... I dont want to haveto take it back. I dont have TIME to take it back... I work too much.

You need to get the weather proof kinds or the ones with the wires so the whole unit doesnt have to be inside where the humidity is high. The humidity tends to fuck up the circuits.

This one says it is all weather... is one reccomended by many people on here... I thought it would work... maybe it will dty out.... but hopefully soon
