Grains not moist enough

Well I soaked my grains over night and then I put all 10 quarts into a big pot and it had a few inches of room and I loaded it to the top with water and simmered it after 20 minutes they had absorbed all the water ALL of it so I added more water and sure enough it was full to the top with the grains I added some more water and I noticed some had exploded so I loaded up the jars and pced and then inoculated with my B+ LC. After three days I see no signs of growth >.< Does that mean that there will not be growth? The grains when I turn the jar on its side fall appart really really easly and last time I did this the stuck together so I belive they do not have enough mosture but they have some.
In other words given what I said above will this still grow?

Did you allow the grain jars TO COOL OVERNIGHT? Before you inoculated them.

I allowed them to cool for 7 hours and they were just slightly warm to the touch Id guess theyr temp was 95 and then I cooled them in a big pot filled with very cold water and shook them up every 10 minutes I do not think the mycelium was damaged by heat.

never fails, the recipe as given scaled up to quart sized only fills half of a quart jar, 25% more is possible without much problem.
literally never fails to get the right moisture content

But the weird thing is nashbar, I did almost the exact same thing befor exept didnt fill the pot so full with grains and had 100% success rate in all 7 quart jars and I am useing the same jars that I did befor.

simmering and rinsing grains, one never knows the actual moisture content. It's possible to control the moisture content by measuring it out. The TEK on that website has the drawback of never rinsing the grains or removing anything.
Give it a try, measure out dry grain and water, pressure cook, shake and wait overnight.
