tannis and vkk thanks for sharing your experiences, here's some insight to mine
why do i cut?
it takes me away, from everything, from this world, this place, this universe, away from people
people like half the people on this thread
i can't stand people, and i can't stand this planet
things happen day by day i know i shouldn't care about, but i do, and these things pile up over time
and eventually i'll just be sitting there, thinking and all of it will hit me at once
every single problem i am having will become aware to me all at the same time
these are what i call my emotional breakdowns, where i'll cry for about half an hour and then be fine
but recently that doesn't work, crying gets me nowhere
so i had read up on cutting and i decided hey, why not
its really not all that bad in my opinion, you heal (perhaps not psychologically, but you do physically heal, if you don't hit any major viens) so i don't really think its that big of a deal
so i tried it
and it worked
i cut and i bled, and everything went away
the pain was very very there, it wasn't going away
and thats all i could think about but then
i went into my own world
where nothing was wrong
everything was fine
i felt the blood going down my arm and it didn't bother me
it felt nice
i dont' do it daily, some people do
i do it when i need to
when i need my escape

cuddles sounds to me like you suffer from panic attacks. My wife is a child psycologist and maybe you need to see some counseling and maybe medication. I m sure you re going to see this as fuck me and i m part of the establishment or some shit like that but thats still the truth and the fact of the matter. if you need to talk to someone pm me and i ll put the wife on with you... hell at the very least it wont hurt you anymore than you re already hurting

I dont cut my self personaly. I dont think i could mentaly force my self to. I do enjoy pain though ( not in a sexuall way like that S&M stuff ), it makes me feel alive. I get extremely bored and nothing wakes you up like getting in a fight. Just a fake fight for fun between friends, still hurts though. Cutting sounds pretty serious. I know you never mentioned it(if you did i am sorry i missed it)but cutting sounds like the first step towards suicide. I really think you should see a counsaler(spell) or therapist and get something to take the place of cutting, you will thank your self later.

I have respect for my self and a real deep feeling for self survival. I knew a girl in high school that was a cutter. Well now SHE IS FUCKING DEAD
DEAD DEAD DEAD. Yeah thats right she slit both her wrists and blead to death. It really fucked me up when i found out she died from cutting herself. I felt so bad cuz i thought i could of prevented it some how some way. i didnt take it seriosly maybe you guys arent either. Life is a serious thing. I would prefer to see you guys not kill yerselves.
And should i even ask why the hell you have a cat in a box.

everyone has problems
some may be more serious than others
i do'nt value my life the way alot of people do
it really means nothing to me
so if i die i don't really care all that much
i'm not worried about it, if i die then i die thats that
maybe i do need some help but i don't think i do, my mom has tried but since i'm 16 they can't force me to see someone

we had to put him down
i had him from age 3 - 16
i cried for so long
i miss him, your cat looks just like him

That about explains it. Teenagers are so stupid. I know because I'm 19. Look, I'm not going to tell you the sob story of my junior high/high school years, mostly because it's no one's business, but I'll say this: shit happens. Everyone has different ways of dealing with it, some people use drugs (bad), some people get in fights (worse), and some people cut themselves (also bad). I don't know you, but it sounds to me like you are on dangerous path, and I really hope you do get some help. One day, you will learn how to deal with shit the worlds flings at you...things will start to make sense. But you have to stop cutting yourself open. You need to learn how to control, understand and channel your emotions and frankly if you are cutting you aren't yet capable of that. Seriously, it's always too nice a day to sit around bleeding. Good luck to you.

I think its obvious that just because you do drugs does not mean you are open minded... (if it wasnt before it is now)
People do all kinds of things for personal reasons. Until thier actions affect someone else its no ones place to criticize. I personally would not cut myself for many reasons from health (mentaly and physically) to philosophical reasons. I have direct experience with people who cut themselves and have realized that people do this for many different reasons, some of which I have found to be more understandable than others.

Those who cut themselves for an escape seem to find short term gratification, similar to those who use drugs for escape. The practice may provide brief ease, but eventually it can become a serious problem as satisfaction is not dirived as easiliy. (This is difficult for me to realate to)
Some cut themselves to provide a challenge... the human psyche has a strange need to work through challenges, to prove abilities, and at some level for everyone there is a need to experience the bad to enjoy the good. Many people Scarify to have something to show either for themselves or to others. (This is easier for me to relate to)
Some cut themselves for pleasure... to experience a new feeling not unlike using a drug. Often sexual, sadomasichism falls into an entirely different category than the above. (much easier to relate to)

As a person living in this society it is my natural inclination to try to push my views onto others. So I encourage people to think carefully about the long term affects, and potential problems that can arize from such actions. I feel that there are more constructive and creative ways to fulfil any of the above circumstances...
I hope that people are willing to be open about this topic despite the occasional criticism and lack of open mindedness....

Cutting is a sign of severe depression and disasociation and is often a tell-tale precursor to suicide - the ultimate cut. I have seen it first hand. The effects of a suicide on the family and friends is devastating. Don't let it go that far. In fact, don't let it go any further.

the cat went in there voluntarily. its a crazy cat.
its rare for me to cut myself anymore.
it doesnt really strike me as an option.
but there is stuff happening in my life of magnitude ive never encountered.
i dont think im gonna be doing much cutting in the future.
my thighs are covered with scars, its trippy.
