An Incubator is a warm dark environment that you incubate your colonizing jars in.
A terrarium is humid, and slightly less warm environment that allows light to get in, thats what you fruit your jars in.
Have fun

An incubator is a box or something that keeps proper parameters for colonizing substrate, in your case your jars. Typically this only includes maintaining proper temps (low 80s) as colonizing jars don't have humidity or air exchange requirements.

A terrerium is a box or something that keeps proper parameters for fruiting. This usually includes humidity (90%+ for cakes, 85% for casings) and air exchange (from 2 or 3 per day to 2 per hour), although some also include temperature controls. (mid to high 70s)

Both phases can be done in the same box if it meets all the requirements for each. Or if it can be converted between phases. Most people just do everything at room temperature, and therefore don't even have an incubator. Ideal temps for fruiting (terrerium) are lower than those for colonizing (incubator), so make adjustments if you use the same setup for both.

hope that helps, I'm sure any more specific questions will be answered as well....

Yes but you also need something to supply humidity when it is time to fruit. This can be accomplished through several means, the easiest of which is to lay a layer of perlite and water on the bottom of the bin. Or you can use a cool mist humidifier.

But you need an incubator first, and the incubator should be heated, or kept in a warm place (80-86 degrees F)
