Ok so thanks a bunch ahead of time for taking the time to help me by answering this question.
I have 3 fully colonized cakes that were crumbled in a zip lock and placed on top of a 1/2 of barely wet perlite, then on top of the crumbled cakes (excuse me for not using the correct terminology) I put the casing mix which again was barely wet and consisted of a mixture of 50% sphagnum moss, very small amount of lime (casing now has a Ph of 7) and 50% vermiculite. I microwaved everything properly. So anyway.. I covered the casing containers with saran wrap, poked holes and placed it back into the incubator.
I'm on day three and I'm starting to see some very white fuzzy stuff peaking thru, it sorta looks cloud like. Is the cloud like fuzz correct as being apart of the process or am i doing something wrong. If all is correct what is next and how long do I wait and how exactly do I know..
thanks soooooo much all !!

You are doing it right! Good job. I dont completely agree with minds eye though. I like to patch once if the myc is sparatic. Then once the casing is about 60 percent covered, then I fruit.

its most likely tomentose mycelial growth, which is good. but if it seems really grayish looking to you compared to the myc youve seen so far, it could be cobweb. cobweb isnt as fluffy and thick as myc is (IME anyway) and its much dingier in color. I had some pop up and i zapped with h2o2 and it died pretty fast. maybe look up some pics to be sure.

OK im pretty sure this looks more like mold to me.. Im not 100% but is there any way to kill it? If it is or isnt mold will it help if i spray the correct mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide on it? Should I raise/lower the incubator temp?
thanks
