Peruvian torch
    #5470182 - 04/02/06 06:57 AM (17 years, 9 months ago)

Has anyone tried the dried Peruvian torch cactus skins available commercially in the UK in head shops and online (e.g. NO SOURCES ALLOWED). I am interested in trying a mild/medium strength psychedelic with my girlfriend, preferably one that can be made into tea, and was wondering if this would be suitable.

My vision fell upon the seven tall candles upon the table. At first they wore the aspect of charity, and seemed white slender angels who would save me: but then all at once there came a most deadly nausea over my spirit, and I felt every fibre in my frame thrill, as if I had touched the wire of a galvanic battery, while the angel forms became meaningless spectres, with heads of flame, and I saw that from them there would be no help.

They will work, although 20g is likely not going to be very strong. Mescaline is considered by some to be a mildish psychedelic although the duration can be quite long and many people experience nausea, especially when consuming cactus flesh. TBH I would not consider any psychedelic to be mild.

BTW you should remove the link from your post.

No psychedelics are truly mild, there are only mild doses of psychedelics.

your drug of choice is Mescaline, which is every bit as intense as LSD, except it is often better received.

The best chance (but not: certainty) of getting a mild psychedelic experience is to take a mild dose.

If people want to volunteer what they themselves use, without recommending doses, it is OK.

You wanting a mild experience might indicate that you or your girl cannot stand up to an earth-shattering experience. If that is the case you should not even take a SMALL dose, because these sometimes are equally intense as highdose ones.

I wasn't suggesting that using any kind of psychedelic is something that should be considered lightly. I have done shrooms 4 or 5 times before, in low and higher doses, and have found that about 15g of fresh cubensis gives me a highly energetic and positive trip that doesn't go too 'deep'. Has anyone who has tried Peruvian torch let me know if they think this is suitable and perhaps tell me err. what kind of dose they use to induce a trip of this kind of intensity.

Peruvian torch is extremely hard to dose as different cacti can contain wildly different levels of alkaloids. If you really want to do this I would recommend investing bulk peruvian torch incense and doing an extraction. This would be a far more reliable method of dosing. We cannot tell you what dose to take, maybe have a look around erowid.
