So i've decided I'd like to get a pet, I dont want a cat or dog but I want something that I can leave out of a cage and it wont crap everywhere so it has to be litterbox trainable.

Hundreds of hermit crabs. They're good at cleaning up crumbs, and a hundred hermit crabs retreating into their shells whenever you make a move is a sight to behold.

if you get one rabbit they are very easy to litter box train.
I would suggest a minilop or lionshead...
I have three.

A snake, just let it roam the house, train it to go in a box
Actually I dunno, dogs and cats are cool.

I was thinking ferret too, but where do they go to the bathroom? In a cage, box, or what?

A ferret...? They can be litter trained, they sleep a LOT, can be fun to play with, and they can be cool (if you don't mind the slight oder)....

It takes a bit, but they can use a litter box. Mine do. I love these little guys, but they can get hurt easy. All you have to do is ferret proof. I have a hilarious video of them playing, too bad I don't know how to post it.

I've seen some when I was younger. My friend had a couple. They were very playful and energetic.. wild acting yet cute little things.

I could mail you over a hedgehog??
Last time I was in Canada I saw one of these in a pet store for $495, as a 'New Zealand Hedgehog' (even though they aren't even native here, we have no native mammals except 2 species of bat). I had to laugh, theres like 5 of the little fuckers in my back yard. Even had one in my bedroom two nights ago, had to catch the vermin' and put him back outside!!

an exotic bird might be the coolest pet one could have besides a dog. Seriously hours of entertainment. I have and reccomend a rainbow lorikeet. They don't get very large like some of the other exotic birds, and they're EXTREMELY playful. I seriously can throw mine across the room and it LOVES it. You can teach it to say whatever you want. Its as colorful as a crayola box. The ONLY downside to this pet is it shits everywhere. But they're little bird shits and don't take much more than a wipe of the paper towel. Get it a decent sized cage with some toys in it and you can leave it in there when you're not home so you don't have to worry about poo everywhere. It's a little on the expensive side, but IMO well worth the price for an amazing pet.
