Possible Setup/ Yay-or-nay

My plan so far is to take a 15 quart rubbermaid tub and put WBS spawned to horsepoo into it covering the whole thing. It will be one giant casing. It will get humidity and FAE through a vicks cool mist and light through a lightbulb that I install inside the tub. Anything sound askew? Any ideas on how I would incubate the entire casing after I spawn the WBS to horsepoo? I was planning on using one of my dads old heatpads and put it underneath the tub. Sound like a good plan? Anybody have any ideas or suggestion. They would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldnt put a light bulb, inside a tub, full of moisture. That, and it would raise the temp.
Just keep it in a fairly warm place and it will colonize just fine.

hah very good point. I didnt think about that. Has anybody else tried this setup before? If so please give me some pointers. Also, what about the heat pad? Would that be a fire hazard if even used just for a couple of days? Is there a better way to heat and entire tub? Space is an issue so a double-tub wont work.

right before that last sentence I was going to suggest a double tub . But you don't have enough room to just put a second 15gal tub ontop of the first? I'm sure you could get this to work wonders if done right, I'm just thinking you might not want to be experimenting if you don't want a greater chance of it not working.

what about a thermostat connected to the pad? a tub in tub? and if you put the light inside, i dont think there would be a way to set it on a timer.

Double-tub is not for heating. Its for RH and FAE. Look here: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/4330121/Main/4323984/
Were you thinking of TiT (tub in tub)?
That is a pretty good way to do it. Two tubs stacked one in the other. It would only be three inches higher. You can do it with two tubs, a small fish tank heater (74-76F), something to hold them together and water between the tubs.

I actually use a thermally regulated heater outside my tub, inside a closed cupboard. I set the heater to my temp, and it does the rest for me. You can find them at walmart etc., about 50 bucks. Heating pads are bad, if you don't burn your house down it will dry the bottom of your substrate.

I got one of those thermostats from Big Apple Herpetological. http://www.bigappleherp.com/bigappleherp...products/924105 Works like a charm in my TiT.

id definatly recomend the tub in tub. with a bit of craftyness you can actualy seal it and wont loose any moisture. far as lighting goes, get yourself a decent 12-18" flouresent lamp(typicaly sold as under counter lighting) there cheep and effective. if you wana close it up so its not shining light everywhere pickup a pieces of hardboard from homedepot(aka masionite) comes 2x4 for like $3 cut with a razor blade and close up with duct tape and turn it into a mini light hood. then cut a hole in the lid of your tub and close with either heavy guage plastic or a sheet of plexiglass also priced around $4. and your good to go.
