Individual terrariums
    #5467764 - 04/01/06 02:34 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

So I'm about to start growing and I'm opting for the 'Hobo's Terrarium' method, aka using a different terrarium for each individual cake. This would be constructed simply of a 2 liter soda bottle or a 1 gallon milk container with an inch of wet perlite. I was just wondering whether the milk container or soda bottle would be preferable, it seems the milk container since it would have a larger surface area exposed but I was just wondering what everybody else thought. Thanks all.

Well as long as it has light and good humidity it should be fine, but it might be a pain to keep humidity well in all of the containers if you are doing a lot of cakes.

The more area you have in your chamber the more room you allow for fruiting, although you really shouldn't have to worry using either container. However, the more area there is, the more difficult it is to keep the RH up.

Alright, thank you both. While I have this thread running, I was also wondering if anybody could tell me under what conditions I could store syringes for a fair amount of time- a month or two-without having to worry about them going bad?
