Can I fruit poo not at 100%?
    #5466837 - 04/01/06 09:17 AM (17 years, 9 months ago)

I just lost my grow to some green mold while colonizing poo. Can I fruit the poo even though it's not 100% so hopefully I can get something out of it? It's a big tub, I don't want it to go to waste. I figure if I introduce light and FAE the mold will die and maybe I'll get a couple fruits - plus I have been misting with H202 solution, so maybe the tray will not be completely lost...

Are you using a casing layer?

all i know is that with casing layers, your actually SUPPOSED to fruit BEFORE 100% colonization because this means your mycillium is still in its aggressive rhizmorphic stage and will poke through your casing layer easier

Um, no...It wasn't ready for a casing layer yet...But the more I look at it, the more I think it would be best to either dumpster tek it, or set it out in the woods somewhere. The mold is growing every day, not that it's that bad yet, but it's getting there.

from my last experience i learned green mold spreads quick. i thought the same thing as you, let it fruit and see what i can get. well by the time i got pins the mold grew past the point of any control.

depends where the mold is you might just be able to break the mold section off and keep the other half of even quarder to where you know there is no mold yet. ive done this before where the greenie was on a corner. just broke it off with a few spare inches of room just to make sure. that took care of it. also you can just patch that missing poo back if you really feel like it.

 If the contam (trich) has turned green that means it has sporulated, theres no getting that out now. trich mycelium is white and hard to spot to the untrained eye. :frown:
