i believe that when your on mushrooms you see more of what the world really is, the filters in your brain are down and in my opinion you see the world for what it really is.

First couple times i did mushrooms i did them because i was curious. Wanted to know what they were all about.
After that i did them primarily to have fun.

Alright, sorry about that. I would say the question would have to be broken into two parts for me: Why I originally strated tripping, and why I do now. I started using shrooms for the same reason that i started using most drugs, I liked the way made me felt and I saw cool stuff while on them. Now, my use of mushrooms today is quite different. I rarely use mushrooms in social or group setting anymore, and I focus more on introspective questioning than visual distortions. That is not to say that I do not still enjoy the beauty that mushroom hallucinations can produce, but I seem to use them more for self exploration.

I would say I have learned more about myself from my mushroom experiences than I could have from years of sober realization. I have learned not only a lot about myself, but I have been able to place myself in other peoples shoes while tripping, and that has given me a different yet better outlook on life in general. I am definetly a much more patient, generous, and understanding person today because of my psilocybin use.

I trip to learn more about the world and myself. If I don't quite feel somethings right, a good trip will give me a good, thorough analysis of whats going on.
Oh, and to see my bed effervescate, too

I used to trip because I could see maxx tripp0r visuals ..
Now I do it because of what I can learn on them. Like the thoughts I have about life, myself, others, etc. is just amazing. I like the thought patterns. And the visuals that accompany them
They are very interesting, and they don't get boring for me.. they being shrooms.
I guess that's why I just keep on chomping on them.

I agree with cuddles...
...The "reason" I trip? The same reason I climb up a 45 foot rock and jump into the river...I like the way it feels, its an adventure and not everybody is willing to do it....

I mainly do it now as a tool to think about my life and my choices. Usually me and a few of my friends climb up to the top of this hill 3-4 miles from our homes and we sit up there and stare into the clouds. That adventure enough is fun enough because i get to be with my friends and trip at the same time. In that sense it is like entertainment. Really where else can you get a day of quality entertainment for $25!!! Its like Disneyland for your mind.
On the other hand a great part of my trip is in deep thought just kinda laying back lookin at the clouds (maybe balzin a little weed). In this part of the day i learn more about myself and what my life is like than ever in a normal day. I feel that i am able to make better choices day to day and i am more confident about myself.
Also a better thing to do on my day off than sitting around, at least with this im getting some exercise.
