rehydration: when its need

I have a few cakes in which I am going to treat differently. 6 are inner reservoir and the other 6 are normal. my questions are as follows.
is it really needed to dunk at birth? will it make for a better flush?
would it be over kill to dunk a reservoir cake at birth or inbetween?
I am going to apply the double ended casing tek to my 6 normal jars, would it be overkill to do the same to the reservoir cakes?
this wiilbe my first attemp applying the reservoir tek, I always dunk after flushes and I use the double ended casing always. I want to know what is over kill on rehydration teks in my situation, thanks fellas(and those few chicks)

dunking at birth should never be needed...If your cakes are so dry that you have to dunk at birth then you have a major deficiency of water in your substrate.
reservior in cakes are supposed to provide the cake with enough water so that you never should have to dunk.
As a general rule, dunking should only be employed when your cakes almost completely stop flushing. If you insist on using a substrate so dry that u need to add more water at birth, then you should just inject water like roadkill does.

you should just case them and put a nice thick wet layer of verm on top of the casing. let sit for a few days in dark. then birth flipped so verm is on bottom. should do good for 3-4 flushes. then dunk. make reasonable size casings so there able to dunk.

there shouldnt be any need for extra water right after birthing. I suggest you use perlite humidification for your cakes. Keep the humidity nice and high in your terrarium, and they should be fine for a flush or two. Use the reservior as you see fit...I would only use it as the cakes production slows. be careful not to over hydrate.

Pleezr bradda,
I inject 10 cc of purified water at birth......i wait 4 days....then inject 10cc of purified water again.
After i see pins forming.....i inject 10cc of water every other day.
I have had no problem with water logged mushrooms.
I have had larger flushes though...so far.
After a flush....i dunk my cakes 12 hours upright......then 12 hours on the lid...In the frig.
My cambodians started flushing again 2 days after dunking.
