Awesome! The pictures on that site show from cut to callus very clearly. Exactly what I needed. Thanks.

anyone have a pic of rot on a cutting. I have some brown growth on the bottom, is that normal or rot. The site above does show spots on one of the cuttings.

I just took a cutting from my Hoodia, should I leave this as long as with a cacti, even though it isn?t one?

Hoodia cuttings are difficult to root I've heard, generally the smaller a cut the less time you need to callous. I'd imagine with Hoodia you'd really need to time it perfect because without roots it would shrivel fast.

Small black spots are kinda normal. Never noticed any rot from it. When the whole base shrivels up and gets squishey... thats rot.

I never had a hoodia root. Tried it like five times. Even the plants on its own root is very susceptable over watering.

Hoodia is more water then plant tissue. More so then pachanoi atleast.
its like trying to root a cucumber. The cut always stays wet and never totaly hardens off. Maybe dusting the cut end in charcloal powder would help bind the wound and help in form a protective callous........
