I may have some argument here (go easy, hahaha) but if I get a tray that overlays I scratch the surface with a sterilized fork, then lightly cover with a very thin layer of moist casing mix. Some say that it damages the mycelium, but from my experiences it works ok. Unfortunately, overlayed casings are disappointing

Sounds like bad news man...you really shouldn't need much heat under your fruiting chamber...am I reading that right? Incubation should be done in and around room temp. or even a little cooler, you don't need the heat.

Yeah your FC needs 70-75, 10 less than incubation. That sounds like it was severly dried out, you might be fucked. lol Try scrating it and then give it a dunk, you might have a little hope.
