Gas Exchange

Hi I read many faqs and searched the forums but there is one question I can't quite answer with 100% comfort. I watched a video and it said you would need to fan the mushrooms to get rid of the gasses that collect at the bottom of their growing enclosure twice a day and I just see this as being something that would be a pain because it would mean I would have to sterilize a room twice a day to accomplish this and since I live out in the nature there is probably even more risk of contamination. I just want to know if there is easier ways of accomplishing this. I have some ideas but I want to hear from experience. I know how hostile people can get when people ask dumb questions I was a former OG member so sorry if I missed it in the faqs.

The term is FAE fresh air exchange. Gas exchange is usually referring to colonization which is needed.
Yes you should fan them a few times.
But you don't have to sterilize the room.
They will be fine

No they can be fine they could be susceptible using the word loosely but there would be nothing that you could do.
By the time the mycelium has fully colonized the substrata it is fairly resistant to contaminates.
The efforts would not be worth it. Nearly no one does.

thanks alot I now fully understand. I was thinking of attaching a fish tank air pump to one end with a homemade carbon filter on the intake and then having a tube leading out with a carbon filter attached to that having an alcohol soaked cloth attached to the air exposed part of both

no man your cool.
You can use a pump for fresh air, and have a filter on it.

any more then that would be extreme
