i had a great-uncle who went blind staring at the sun. he was performing some pooja ceremony, where he was supposed to meditate while staring at the sun - the idea being his gaze would be turned inward and the sun's rays would not harm him. seems like he fucked up, though, because he went blind :whoops:

i don't think anything will really allow you to look at the sun without harming your eyes, except for filming it and looking at the film, or using one of those cardboard box projectors that you make during eclipses. i might be wrong, though

If you don't feel that it would get you into trouble - and really, it can't, I say next time she pulls this shit you raise your hand and hve some sort of semi-prepared statment in your head. Something about the spread of misinformation, and the fact that just because it comes from the teacher doesn't make it true.
Plug erowid.org, spell it out loud, and tell everyone to research drug myths on their own.
Technically you could not be breaking any school rules. You wouldn't even be encouraging drug use - merely the research of INFORMATION.

My favourite myth is the one about the girl on LSD who thought she was a bumble bee and tried to fly through a keyhole.

I believe a #9 welding mask would be dark enough to have a quick look...maybe.
In one of the neighborhoods I grew up in, there were these two nazi war criminal guys in hiding. Anyway, one time during an eclipse they let me use one of their welding masks to pop a peek at it. They also sold me a cool medicine cabinet for 50cents (we used it in a club house thing we were building). They were pretty mellow for ex nazis.

Well.. they were the right age, they were extremely german. They did very little socializing, if any, in a very social private neighborhood. They said they had moved there from Brazil, which is a common place for nazi war criminals to have fled to after the war apparently. All they did all day was build shit in their garage and play horseshoes.
Incidentally right across the street from them and up a couple of houses, were Robert Zemeckis's parents. His mom was really cool, gave out candy every saturday to the neighorhood kids.
