Help with poorman pod

So I have my fruiting chamber set up temps around 69-75 but I cant get the RH up past 55% I have a air pump pushing 5000 cc/min hooked to a 48 in bubble wand. The top is sealed with rubber door and window weatherstripping. I have a hole in the top for air exchange. Geolite/lava rocks are about 4in. deep, water to about 3in. When I had it set up with a cup of water and an air stone humidity would get to about 75% but no higher. I have read every post I could find but am still at a loss for ideas. Can anyone help.

hmmmm...I'm not really good with air pumps and such...
But I remeber that I had an air pump that was pushing to much air through my PmP, causing to much air flow....
Perhaps you are having the same problem?
Mine took awhile to get just right, mesing with the water level and such.

Oh yeh, and cheap hygrometers(sp?) don't really tell Rh well after like 60% or so...Looks like you have a nice one tho, but ya never know
If you stick your hand in and you can feel water sticking to your hand...Then your Rh is good enough

Yeah I paid 25$ for the thermometer/hygrometer so i am pretty sure its accurate. Would to much air echange cause low RH? Its a 20 gal bin. According to http://www.shroomery.org/wiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AirpumpFAQ they recomend 2593-3890 cc/min in a 20 gallon aquarium. I guess i should try a regulator valve to limit the air flow.

Perhaps...I'm not all to familar w/ air required per amount of space and such.
But I had the Same problem and Agar ended up asking me about the pump and I was like ...lol
To much air flow might be causing air to flow out to quickly or something of that nature. It might be something else, but I wouldn't rule it out.
Get a smaller pump OR get one of those hose splitters so that it'll let some air spill out. See if the Rh goes up any,

hope it works

I have a air pump for a fish tank that has a control dial, tub, geolite two holes in the top with polyfill If I need to change humidity I tweak the dial so I am able to regulate my RH that way was pretty cheap to

Its too bad about your RH issue dude, the terrarium setup looks right on, it is fairly large though...try misting the sides of it and then sealing the moisture in...you might be able to give the RH a boost and it will maintain consistant after that.

try this. put your hygrometer inside the tub. those probes dont work well for humidity. i thought i had 30% RH when i was using perlite because of those blasted probes lol.

If you want to see how accurate it is put the probe in a sealed container with a capfull of wet salt, wet salt should keep the RH at 75.

Thanks for the advice. Will the hygrometer read RH without the probe?

Dude i have 2 PMP's, your air pump is way too powerfull, even if its slightly lower than what they reccomend in the tek its better than too much power, I strugled with this same problem at first too much air flow causes humidity to drop
I have an 18 gallon chamber with a 15 gallon air pump, I look at it like this my geolite and water take up at least 3 gallons, so Im really only trying to humidify 15 gallons of room.

OK i have a regulator on the air now i just need to fine tune it. Also now that the hygrometer is in the FC its reading a much higher RH then it was with the probe in the FC.
 Thanks for everyones input.
