That sucks... so you got banned just for swearing in a message to a user? Or was it feed back?

I called a vendor for false advertizing and got told buyer beware and to order "when not high" over them selling myrtillocactus as san pedro. E-bay had no problem with him telling me that in feedback and would take no action. IMHO they protect where the money comes from, they make more from vendors so you must be wrong,eh? E-bay still has some cool vendors though.

Yes screw these people.

I just left this seller neutral feedback with something sarcastic like "Priority shipping only takes 3 weeks from this seller."  Since I was POed I upgraded shipping to have it take 3 weeks from two states over.

Anyways seller leaves me NEGATIVE feedback saying: "Another Retarded eBayer that left me bad feedback."  So I called him a piece of shit and his items are being returned and that I want full refund.

I guess he complained to ebay about my swearing.  There is nothing else I have done wrong.  Actually I was right he is a piece of shit

Also one guy tried to rip me off on there before. I was auctioning a video card. In my listing page, I had a detailed description as well as pictures of the box the video card comes in and a pic of the vid card itself. Some guy buys it and leaves me a good feedback.. Then a few days later he starts sending me messages and emails saying that I sent him the wrong card and that he wanted the right card be sent to him or his money back. I know damn well I had the right video card too. I think this guy was just trying to rip me off. I never answered his messages and I checked back about a month later only to find he's no longer an ebay member .
I guess he fucked up somewhere along the line.

I got 100 medium sized for under 20 bucks on there before. It was the only time I've got them from that place though. The transaction went smoothly and they were pretty potent pods too! I guess the seller was inexperienced in selling pods or had too many of them laying around.

My parents make most of their income off of ebay, they themselves have never scewed anyone over, but have been fucked over many times. But you would continue to sell on ebay if you were bringing in the kind of money they do off of it

As do my grandparents... I've had pretty good experience selling on there.. All of my ratings are positive, it's just that one time the guy tried to cheat me or something - I think he was just a scam artist and someone else recognized it, thus ebay banned him or whatever because he's no longer a registered member.

I supplement my income at least $500 a month by eBay. Mainly spend all of it back into it though.

I have 3 accounts for selling items and one for buying and selling on a personal level.

I don't intentionally screw people.

The feedback system is flawed because people will hold your feedback hostage.

Shitty sellers with 10000 transactions have more leverage than a guy with 100 transactions.

Most my negative feedback is in return for leaving some.

But I am supporter of letting other people know about a sellers/buyers shortcomings because that is the value of the feedback system. If a seller has less than 99%+ rating I read all negative feedback and decide if I want to business with them (especially after this last fiasco).

What kind of stuff do you sell? generally what's your straegy?

I went to uni with a guy who had studied history of art and knew about antiques and especially rare books. He made around ?5000 a month by simply buying books and selling them again, since most people were unaware of the value of their books.

I buy wholesale and resell it is simple.  I have some good wholesale sources from family connections.

For example: I bought 30 - 54" Hi-Lift Jacks for cash from a bankruptcy sale for like $4.50 each.  Everyone of those sold for over $40 and those people got deals.  So about $34 profit each x 40 = around $1300 i think that was a good deal.  always work your selling fees into shipping & handling for higher profits.

Basically I know people who use their credit card to buy wholesale good online - resell them on ebay before the balance is even due.  You can make money on your credit that way.

I don't intend on giving away too much info as it could hurt my business

You will want to hire a secretary with all the clerical bullshit you have to keep up with.  It is a part time job.

I think running an eBay store like in a strip mall that resells items for people is where the real money will be in the future you see a lot of them popping up.

Thought about doing that! I have some wholesale connections but unfortunanetly its in the doors production industry and I don't think that there are people that would buy doors from ebay.

I've thought about selling my granfather's agricultural production (produces a coupple of tones of pistaccio nuts every year) but again it's a bit complicated, with all the health regulations and the shipping costs.
