All nighters?
    #5457928 - 03/30/06 12:49 AM (17 years, 9 months ago)

Hey folks

I was wondering how bad all nighters are. I know a lot of people do this, but I was wondering if I didn't sleep all night for 1 day out of the week how bad this would actually be?

peace

missing sleep is very bad, they say you need at least 8 hours of sleep a day but even this is a bs number. every hour your awake you need an hour of sleep thats my opinion. its cause and effect. every hour your awake uses energy and cells die ect. when you sleep your body gains energy and rebuilds itself. so im saying if it takes an hour to use somethin its going to take at LEAST an hour to put it back the way it was.

by the way nomatter what i do, i can not put myself to bed untill after 3am every night. ive been doing this for about a year or 2. and i can tell its hard on me. im tired all day long. i have lots of gray hairs and im only 20. thats all i can think of right now. but also there was a guy over in korea and he was up for like 24 hours stright or a week i dunno. anyways he died from exhaustion. point being you will die much younger with less sleep.

I have no problem with all nighters ... Just as long as you can stay awake untill your normal time of waking up you should be fine, with a little caffine of course

I have stayed awake for 6 days their bud, doing hard drugs at that, I didn't die or even come close, I don't think....

Lack of sleep can't be good for you ,,, but I wouldn't go as far as to say the more you sleep the longer you live.

Well I'm busy with websites and usually I have to atleast not sleep one night, I guess I really can't do much about it if I want money.

all nighters are not going tto kill you just get some sleep the next day. this is prolly not true if you stay up or days at a time like a tweaker, but generally staying up without sleep for a nite is harmless

not enough sleep is horrible.

Personally, I think not getting enough sleep will make you way less intelligent.  :smirk:

I've got a lot of sleepless nights under my belt. I can certainly vouch that the day after I tend to feel mildly retarded, and indeed I AM mildly retarded during that fatigued period of time.

The slap-happiness was fun at first, but now it's just annoying.

Fatigue does strange things to the mind. Only temporarily, though.

I have been staying up all night since I was very young.. probably only like 10 or so.. I've always had sleep problems and found myself naturally stimulated at night.
I think the longest I've been up for was about 5 days straight - of course I couldn't stay up that long naturally, I was using stimulant drugs, and didn't really choose to stay up that long, I just wasn't tired.
Sometimes when I stay up for a long time, I get intense hallucinations - both audio and visual. It's pretty weird feeling.
