Hey everyone; Ive been prowling this forum for nearly a year now, and I recently decided it was time to try my hand at cultivation. The spores are on thier way!! anyways I just have a few questions about what comes after inocculation of your PF jars: Ill be using a TiT setup, I have my submersable heater, I was wondering if an air pump is nessisary? Also, my friend is telling me I need to poke holes in the bottom of my top tub so the air bubbles can bring moisture into it... is this true?? I look forward to finding out alot more answers here in the coming weeks, thank you in advance for all the help this forum will bring an amature mycologist!!

air pump is optional in a TiT, i wouldnt bother with it. and make sure your heater is at least 150w or the temps might not get above 75 in there.....the highest setting on mine just makes it to 82....nice
also remember when u take a temperature reading in your TiT add a couple of degress on as the inside of the jars are warmer yes... i fell for this one with my 1st run of jars, too hot = jars stalling....
good luck with the grow bro
and dont poke any holes in the TiT no need ok.........

thanks for the quick answers! The heater I have is for 5-15 gallons, sence I didnt think I'd need to be heating up THAT much water I thought it would be fine, but the wattage on it is only 50... The heater for 10-30 gallons is 100 watts and for 30-60 gallons its 200 watts. Do I need to go back to Wal-Mart and get a bigger one? and a buddy of mine is willing to donate his air pump, should i use one if the resource is available? couldnt hurt right? thanks~!

just try it out b4 u put your jars in, geta decent thermometer
and i thnk u b better off using the air pump in your fruiting chamber for fresh air exchange(FAE) maybe run it under the perlite or stick tube in a jar or water with a airstone on, nice bubbling air in your FC.! = less fanning more humidity.....

Fresh o2 during incubation.. I would personally stay away from that.
Fresh air is one of the triggering phases of fruiting.
Also, you dont need to drill holes. Adding more moisture into an already dark, warm place, would not end with good results.
