Heat gun used as vaporizer gun

So I'm sure many of you out there have seen overpriced "vaporizer guns" in head shops that assure the quality smoke of a vaporizer out of any piece. Well I don't really have $80-$100 bucks for a name brand, so I read that heat guns used for stripping paint also work. Anyone out here have any experience with this? Recommended temps? Once mine comes in the mail I'll post results.

the only experience ive had with a vaporizer was a ghetto rigged soldering iron, a thimble, and a mason jar. the iron melted the thimble.
set the paint stripper on high and go from there. worst case scenario you'll cook some herb

i use a craftsman 27801 heat gun and it works out pretty good. I has a heat dial and fan speed as well as temp indicator. I set it at 850.
I think anything with variable heat setting is good, one thing to keep in mind is not using a heat gun with paint and gunk on the end, you don't want to be huffing.

My weed dude uses a heat gun on his party slide piece in his hookah and it works fine. He never makes it hot enough tho...

i find that if you cut up the buds well and use ice in the bong it condenses the smoke pretty well. When you're done with a bowl it should be toasted and browned, not charred at all, else your missing the point of a vap... problem is getting the heat just right and having the tip a couple inches away from the buds.

I highly recommend heat gun vaporization instead of smoking. The 2 things you need for a heat gun to work right are:
1)Continous heat dial, you have to have very precise control of the temperature, those that just have a few heat settings will give poor results. The settings will usually be too high for good vaporization. a temp of about 400f. is what you should shoot for.
2)Ceramic encapsulated heating coils, otherwise you are metal ions will be realeased and inhaled, which could be damaging.
You can find heat guns that have those two criteria for under $100. Getting set-up with vaporization tools might have a somewhat intial start-up cost, but once you experience the benefits you will forget about the cost. Its truely worth it, you gain in quality of high, flavor, and best of all health(it can be felt). The only downside is having to puff near a power outlet.
