Duct Tape over Electrical Tape

Well I just poked 4 holes on all my half pint jars, and instead of using electrical tape over the holes, would duct tape work the same?

I'm hoping so

neither duct or electrical tape would work. it would build up pressure in your jars in the PC if your lids are tightened. and they wouldnt work anyway. things to use are 3M micropore tape, polyfill, or tyvek.

odd. i was always under the impression that eventually jars will stall if sealed completely. by letting them release their C02, you are better off.

Hell yes your right there but the tape works fine for the cooking process and such. I use to leave the tape till I saw the myc start to grow then remove it for the reasons you stated.  :thumbup:
