Inflated Bags

Of the several Rye seed bags I a have going
One has ballooned like crazy.
Now I assume that this is from gas build up from the mycelium
Is this because of possible contaminants that is in contact with the mycelium the reason for the accumulation of excess gases.
Good Bad or Indifferent?

Generally, a bag that inflates has a lot going on inside it. Most likely, an unwanted bacterial bloom, from being overly wet. I hope that is not the case, with yours.

Dramatic inflation could mean that bacteria or something is growing with the mycelium. It isn't necessarily bad and sometimes helpful depending on the variety of bacteria. As long as the mycelium continues to grow you are ok, but using suspect bags to inocculate more substrate is risky.
Give the bag a gentle squeeze and sniff the filter patch. If it smells like anything other than mushrooms or grain then you may have a problem. Don't mix the substrate since if there is a contaminate it will spread around and inhibit or prevent mycelial recovery.
So just keep an eye on that bag and if it completely colonizes you are fine. If you use the rye as primary spawn to more grain or bulk substrate it may fail. It would be best to case it directly to minimize the chances of failure if you suspect a contaminate is present. Good luck!

I see so the mycelium is under stress, though the outcome is uncertain.
The bag did have a faint order, just a little.
And this is Rye Seed for Sclerotia, I don't know if that makes a deference.

Well I guess there is not much to do but wait.
Should the bag be removed until the condition is known.

I read an advertisemnt for a myco/spawn bag or whatever, and it said to inoculate, let sit, and it would inflate. All that mycelium could be creating c02,and heat wich makes air expand. If it has a filter patch i would think that would not let it build up pressure.

my bags colonized fully, but inflated hardcore after they were colonized, is that still an indication of bacteria? there is hella condesation and water i see.

The odor would be sour, rank or like apples if it was a problem. Bags naturally inflate, but fast inflating "could" indicate a problem. With the sclerotia bag, I'd leave it alone and make sure its not too warm. If there is bacteria in there, it can become worse at high temperatures. Normal room temperature is great.
