Hello fellow growers. I am a newbie to the area of psilocybe cubensis. 3 of my friends (and me) have desided that the cost and availiblity of good quality "shrooms" is quite lacking in our area. So we desided to grow our own. This isnt our first venture into the synth of a psycotropic. Experice tells us that some places will burn you, some will give missleading info, and some things just dont work. We desided on the 'Pro Kit : KW' from shamanshop.net. And we intend to follow the sterile instuctions to a T. But as I said, we have been burned before. Is there anything I need to know other than follow the instructions?

So the best idea is to collect my own supplies and follow the directions on the shroomery? Should I still order sterile jars, or get all the supplies and sterilze everything myself? If so, where do I order everything from?

Read around on the shroomery and decide on a tek that you think you can handle, talk to some of the shroomery elders if you have questions that aren't dealt with on the forums (use the search function), the faq (anno has thelink) or the tek itself, and you'll get more shroom for less money. All the stuff you need you can buy at stores like walmart and home depot except spores, and you can get those from a whole bunch of people around shroomery. reading the cultivation/contam forums and looking at the stuff in pictures is a good idea too, lots of questions answered and helpful tips brought up. plus pics let you know wtf a casing actually looks like, etc etc

Thanks to you all, I am sure I will be back with questions. But for now it's resarch, and I will try to apply everything everyone said. I just hope my friends didnt order that POS kit.

you should also think about if you really wanna cultivate with your friends..that might not be the best idea

ill be honest, you will never get the yeilds from a kit that you want...enough for you and your friends to eat shrooms every month,but thats about it...you wont be able to grow in bulk.....10 pounds of wet shrooms is about 1 pound dried...that kit will never do that
