Greetings shroomery:
I bought a AA921 PC about a month ago but today was actually the first time I was able to use it...
I had nothing in it, just about 1 inch or so of water.. as it was between 5-10 psi it start letting steam and water out from the crack between the lid and container...
Whats the deal, did I get a defective one??? This was the first time I used it, I followed all the instructions... lubricated what had to be lubricated and it started shooting steam?
Could it be that maybe I used too much lubrication??? I dont think so tho, why what that let off steam???
If anybody might know what the prob is, please let me know... I will call the manufacturer tomorrow, as today seems too late...
thanks

Read the manual.
It specifically states that this is normal when they're new and the lid will seat itself over time.
Read the manual.

The lube goes on the bottom of the machined ridge where the lid and cooker meet, because that's where the seal is made. What kind did you use--vaseline? Also, when before tightening, make sure the lid is visually level. Then tighten two knobs at a time, opposite of eachother.
The manual will tell you what I just did, simply condensing it.

thank you,
and yes I did use vaseline
What can I do in the meantime.. Can I still use it?
Should I just use it and not worry about the steam shooting out from the side?
I just dont want to get injured or ruin my PC

Aluminum is soft and the lid and kettle will form-fit to each other over time. Mine leaked for the first five or six uses, then sealed up just fine. The first few uses, you might have to tighten the wing nuts a bit more than you will later on. Just don't damage the surfaces by prying the lid off with a screwdriver. RR
