problem pinning

the problem is no pins and its been 20 days since casing verm on pcorn it seems like every thing is correct but no pins. temp is around 78, humidity is around 90+ been misting the shit out of it but nothing. can see it in the vallys of the casing. any suggestions would help

you may be spraying it too much.... did you make a casing layer, if so what kind?

yeah i cased it with vermiculite and I use a fine mister not a spray bottle so i don't drench the casing just keep it moist

i am using the pf tech and it took 20 days for mine to pin i would say that if you cant see any signs of a contams then just to wait and see. good luck

i thought you weren't supposed to mist when a casing pins. I trust you guys, just asking why this method would work in this situation

i noticed today that i have these tannish blobs starting to show on the vermiculite and I thought you were suposta stop misting after you have pins too.

ya they might be pins formin and i wouldnt totally mist the shit outa them but a good mist atleast twice aday till the pins are forming a better fruiting stage then i wouldnt mist at all and let them finish growing

alright I hate to be a pest but, instead of achieving pins i just have splotches of growths. that are just masses of tissue with the same color of stems but no redish tops. any suggestions would help out alot

That is stroma a dense, cushion-like aggregation of mycelium forming on the surface of composts as well as casings and indicative of somatic (vegetative), not generative growth. I once had some myc that would colonize a quart jar in just 3 days but never fruited it always came thru the casing exactly like yours.

well thanks for the telling me a name for whats going on i will have to save that so when it happens again I will know excatly whats going on. I wonder it i gave it a good deep scratch wonder what it will do for me. sound like it is experment time.

Well it could be that your simply misting directly "matting" down the myc also if thats the case lightly patch those areas and mist upwards and let the mist "fall" onto your casings surface. GL
