I was wondering about the jar during incubation. Is it bad to have the jars kinda sealed. Not like vacuum packed air tight but tape over the hole lid, so no contams could spread for one to another. I have been wondering this, tried to read as much as possible but I don't see anything about it. I seen if its to dry tight lid to wet loosen lid. I know you have to watch for to dry to moist type situation. But what about air. Do they have to get a good air exchange during incubating? As long as the moisture is good. I'm kind worried about contams. I know cobweb can be caused by humidity to high, but can it be caused by bad air exchange? I'm not quit sure but it looks like I might have a touch of it in two out of 12 jars. Hard to tell if it's it. I read you can spray with peroxide/water to get rid of it, but can you do while still in jars? And how? Thank for you time.

yes! do not tape the holes. there have ben studies of that, and the people who tape the wholes have less yeilds, and co2 contams. just leave the wholes open, if you do the tek right, then youll have plenty of protection from contams...and welcom to the shroomery!

Thank you SO much.
The ones that I think have the cobweb, what should I do?

I'm assuming you are talking about the PF tek.
The chances of a contam spreading from one jar to the next is highly unlikely unless you open a contaminated jar next to your other open jars, so don't worry about that. You want the jars to be able to breathe by loosening the caps or taking the tape off of the jars or you will get slow or no colonization. The dry verm top layer acts as a contam barrier.
Follow the formula of 2 parts verm, 1 part water, 1 part BRF and you won't have to worry about the moisture.
If you get a contam inside of your jar, throw it away and start over. It's not worth the effort involved to try to save a PF jar and you may contaminate future grows by spreading mold spores around.

I highly recommend trying grains soon, i started with the pf-tek too and to me cakes are much more trouble than a casing in a mono-tub. Its really is easy to make a casing just do your research and give it a try. You will be much happier with the results. If you are looking for a good grain tek try scatmanrav's grain tek. He has the link in his posts at the bottom. I started using this tek when I first tried using WBS and Rye grain and it worked fantastic. I just wanted to offer a helpful suggestion. Sounds like you are researching a lot which is the key. Welcome to the shoomery.

can you post som pics of what you think is cobweb? as far as i know (and i could be wrong) cobweb typicly grows on top of your casing and feeds on the fruits. and yes you do need air exchange in your jars

You can get cobweb in jars or on your casings. I know because I have had it a long time ago in my pf jars. Definitely try to post a picture.

It's hard to tell cobweb from myc when both are starting out, especially if this is your first time seeing myc at all. The chances of it spreading are really slim (it's my guess that the contam didn't likely come into the jar, it probably survived the boiling, assuming you don't yet have a Pressure Cooker). I'd say wait on those jars until you can definalty tell them apart as contminated. Newly forming myc looks whispy like cobweb sometimes. Either way, welcome to the Shroomery.

you say its hard to tell - so wait it out... cobweb will make itself apparent by growing at a much faster rate than the myc, and once there's a bigger patch you'll be able to see the color easier, its more of a greyish color than healthy white myc. your myc will start to form first in the areas where you inoculated (obviously, since thats where the spores were deposited)... if the growth is in a different place not near where your inoculation "puddle" would have reached, you've probably got a contam
