Its been a while, is this method right?
    #5453742 - 03/29/06 12:02 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Since summer came around it was too hot here and I sadly had to put away everything until cooler weather came.
And it was just when I got a method down pat, stupid me didnt write anything down. All im left with are good memories and shit load of spores

So im going to just write off the top of my head a method and please let me know of anything incorrect, thanks guys.

It might be a bit vague at parts, but its more of a reference just to make sure im not missing out on anything major.

First of LC must be made
- Create Dextrose/Malt mixture (will look up exact numbers later)
- Sterilize mixture, let cool down and inoc with prints.
- Put in chamber at 28C or 82F.
In a week or so LC should be ready for use.

Substrate
- Soak WBS over night
- Load up jars no more then 3/4 full
- Seal jars with air exchange possible (poly fill or whatever)
- PC for 30mins at 15psi
- Let cool down and inject jars with LC, The more LC the better for quick colonization. Shake up.
- Put jars in heating chamber, same temps as before 82F
- At about 15% give a shake and again at 50% colonization.

Now time for casings
- Make a mix of 50/50 this is coco and vermiculite right?
- 50/50 must be moist.
- Take jars of colonized substrate and crumble into bottom of trays, and put the 50/50 mix ontop and moisten with water spray until it glistens.
- Put back into chamber checking in a couple of days for signs of first growth of myc poking through.
- Cover up the first signs of myc growth and back into chamber (we are trying to get an even layer of myc on the top)
- When it looks like the myc has made it to the top put into fruiting chamber.

- Fruiting chamber is a Tub In Tub, keept at 72F with a layer of perlite on the bottom for humidification.
- Fan 3 times a day and keep moisture levels up by misting
- Stop misting once pins have started or else head rot may occour when mist settles on pins (learnt the hard way)

I think thats it... looks like I rembered more then i thought, just needed to get it all out.

Anyways so how does that sound?

Ive only got fans, no AC. So it was too hot to fruit.

I know your trying to help but that method you posted is a very basic jar tek, actually it is the most basic one. And I started out with that too, but what im talking about is a bit more complicated.

I just want someone to double check it for me before I go ahead.

Everything sounds good. Try and start an active grow log here and as you go along I am sure ppl will be helpful if you come across a problem. Just a suggestion...

"Strange memories on this nervous night in Las Vegas. Five years later? Six? It seems like a lifetime, or at least a main era - -the kind of peak that never comes again. San Francisco in the middle sixties was a very special time and place to be a part of. Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant."
