HELP regarding dunking/pins

2 of my cakes just finished thier 1st flushes and i really need an EXPERT to clear some things up for me.
1st of all - i read that all of the cakes pins will form in the beginning...some will mature quickly and the ones that dont mature will be the 2nd and 3rd flushes and so on. so after harvesting my first flush i dunked in cold water in my fridge and there are about 10 pins on the cake. i asked a question about this earlier and 1 member told me that i should leave it in my FC and let those pins mature, rather then dunking them. he said that dunking the cake with those pins on it will cause them to abort. is this true? i thought you were supposed to dunk BETWEEN flushes, right? this means that pins will be dunked, right? well thats exactly what i did but other members answers to my questions continue to contradict with what im reading... should i remove those pins before rolling and placing back in FC? i do not want aborts chilling on my cake and fucking shit up in my FC...

Any pins on the cakes prior to dunking will abort. Pick all the pins off and then dunk.
Sometimes you can get away without dunking for the second flush. Depends on how you supply moisture to the cake during the flush.
