Air Purifier/Ionizer

I'm going to be running a few small double tubs in my walk in closet, and I've come across an Air purifier/Ionizer.
Is there any benefit to running this in my closet all the time? I'm thinking it could cut down on contams.
Or since the DT's have polyfill holes, should i just run it a few hours before opening to case/harvest?
I can use it as a purifier, or an ionizer, or both. What mode would be the best way to run it. I don't know exactly what the ionizer portion does, so I'm wondering what Ionizing the air means.
thanks

I'm not much on ionizers. They're great for glove boxes and sterilization on demand. How they clean the air is to cause the microbes to stick to stuff. You can see how this could cause problems over the long run, especially in a humid area.

You should only be opening the tub to spawn, which requires sterile conditions, case, and harvest. The two latter processes are less of a concern than the first. I have an ionic air purifier and I have noticed no difference between the grows that were in the room with it and the grows that were not.
The poly-fill will provide all the filtration needed.

Id suggest doing some more research into the air purifier purchase, although theoretically it will "ionize" harmful particles in the air, which just makes them weigh heavier then air so they fall and "stick" (Wronguy) onto surfaces, you can then wipe them away. Most of the ionic purifiers produce ozone though, which is harmful to good health at certain ppm levels.
If your super concerned about clean air, there are much more efficient technologies out there. UV light for intance, which is used to purify water and air is an excellent new sterilizing technology being used in hospitals.
here are some links, just be careful, there are alot of deceitful products out there. You might want to check the comsumer reports website for specific testings and results. http://www.air-purifier-home.com/airsopure.aspx http://www.sanuvox.com/ http://www.calutech.com/
