levels of conciousness(a great story)
    #545064 - 02/08/02 05:47 PM (14 years, 9 months ago)

As I was reading "levels of conciousness" by grimble grumble, I remembered the happeist moment of my life.

Here is some phylosophy of mine, based on the facts I have knlowledge of.
As one learns, he gains knowledge, and expereince in the world around him.  the older he getts, the more enlightened he become.

When your young, you have a very nieve look on the world, and it is very confusing. Have you ever felt that  you just dont see things the same way as you did when you were younger? You saw the world from a different level of conciousness, than you are now. You can look at "a bigger picture", and with this new found "understanding", you change your personality accordingly. I'f anyone wants to here more, ask me later. I am only 16, and I have hardly expereinced the world, so can I get some comments from older people? Thanks.

Back to the story. My best experience on mushrooms was about 6 months ago. A good freind and I(very intelligent)ingested about 3.5 grams of home grown lipa-yai each. this is an explination of the levels of conciousness , and the happiness I expereints on my journey.

It was a beautiful day, right in the beginning of summer. We injested at about 10am. Then we left his house for a hike with the dogs. We had water, apples(incase we got hungry)etc. We also brought tiki(famous:), and some weed.

My freind lives right on the colombia river valley(about 3 miles away) The area around the river consists of huge beautiful feilds, with long, gold grass. There are clumps of trees scattered along the feilds, and some forested areas. groves of poplar trees are also scattered among the landscape.(there is no settlement in this area, creating the perfect atmosphere). Wonderful!!!

We heading south across the creek valley(flowing from the rockies),
leaving my friends house, and then East towards the river valley, and swampland. We walked along a dirt path that goes towards the river. it goes through the most beautiful feild you could think of. Flowers are blooming everywhere, and the sun is right above.

You can see the river valley about half a mile away, past the little forests of decidous woods, with a sort of "jungle look" to them. There is a forest, and creek the the left of the feild, and huge hills to the right, with desert sort of plants growing on them. and a river valley in front of you. it couldn't get much better than this:)

As we walk along the dirt road that goes through this wonderful feild, there are ruins of old settlements from the pioneer times. Wow!

As we near the river valley, we feel the trip starting to come on in the ussual wave sensation.

we went through the jungle looking forest, and reached a very cool area; small clearing of healthy swamp grass. A consistant patern of large cracks was throughout this clearing. To big to see, at close range, but noticed later. The trip was getting more intense. We seemed to be having great difficulty deciding where to go. It was quite confusing. "I don't know, which way do you wan't to go"??  "you decide".  "are yousure we want to go that way"?? "sure".

After what which seemed to be half an hour of deciding, we found us heading south again, down the river valley, and back west, through a valley. ( There was another dirt road going up the valley, toward the mountains). As we heading in the differction from which we came(but further south), I noticed I was getting way too high. Things got more distant, and at the same time clear. thought patterns where certainly not normal.:) Walking along this road was getting very intense( nothing I couldn't handle). We decided to have a break, and sat down and talking about the world. we also had a drink and an apple i think.

We continued down to road, trying to grasp the consept of reality, but we were just to far away. I felt like I was gliding down the path. We then heading north, and found ourselves in the small creek valley(not the river), and not accually that small.
we were having a blast coming down, and jumping in the creek. I waded down the creek preditor stye, being as quite as I could. we found ourselves, heading east, down the creek valley.
We then sat down on a log, overlooking the creek(here is where it starts to gett interesting). This one one of the most amazing comedown I have evr had. As we sat there coming down from our peak, we both istantly notices waves of euphoria running through our body. We sat there ,on the log for a long time with these waves. it was wonderful!! We were both feeling the same thing! We then noticed, they dissapeared, and a different feeling came. reality was so very vouge(sp) at this point. We kept coming down in these periodic sensations, while sitting of this log:) I then felt that everytime a wave hit, reality came closer, and thing's werent as comnfusing. we talking about this theory for the whole time. every time a level goes by, I see the surrounding trees, and landscape become clearer. this was not just a mental thing, but my vision too! When I was high on the mushrooms, i had lost reality, and I was still looking at the same world as I was sober, but perceiving it differenty. as I came down, reality became clearer and clearer. I started getting a feeling of"coming home"from a distant journey. The world, getting clearer and clearer, before my eyes.
What a great way to feel levels of consiousness in a short period of time. it sort opf related to the learning expereince. When your on a phycidelic, your are not perceiving the world as you would normally. As I was coming down, the world was getting closer, and clearer. one of my favorite expereinces.

My freind wen't to go gett something from his house, and I remained in the forested area, by the creek. I was with the dogs(german sheaperd, and lab.). they are very freindly. I satrted walking toward a distant clearing in front of my. I walked towards it, down the creek. The feeling of coming home was getting more intense,as i walked. It was quite dark in the forest, and there was light coming from the distance clearing. You can imagine the impact from me walking from the dark, into the light, along with the time my coming home feeling was so intest. In theis moment, i felt I had been gone forever. somewhere I can't quite explain. gone for years. I had just came back home. I had not seen these trees, and sun, and grass, and my wonderfull dogs, and myself in soo long. I nelt down, and felt the sun htting me, and warming me. i could feel the heat. I almost burst into tears i was so happy. Just me, kneeling there is this sun-lit feild with the best dogs in the world, and feeling the most wonderfull sense of belonging I have ever felt in my life. This, by far was the most amazing, and wonderful expereince in my life, and i hope everyone gets a chance, one time in there life to feel the way I did at that moment.
It has changed me, and the way I am for the better, and has made me a much better person. thanks for listening:)

glacius

Very similar experience to yours glacius. About three years ago i had my first mushroom experience and going into it with no information other than my friend's comment of "ya man it's soo trippy" i was'nt expecting much more than a long weed high with a bit of colourful visuals.....needless to say it completly blew my mind and it was by far the happiest 12 hours of my life(5 - 6 hours of being subjected to mind/spirit expanding realisations and emotions and then 6 hours of a beautiful universe loving after glow till i fell asleep). What people often fail to remember is how hard it is to describe a psychedelic experience to someone who has never had one. You can not, as it is without a doubt completly beyond words. It completly changed my life around and i have no idea where i'd be now if not for that heavenly day and some of the more profound trips i've had in more recent times wich broke me out of a spell of desparing depression i had when i graduated high school. I had cried tears of joy realising the one-ness of it all and the awesome beauty of creative unifying love that is the infinite universe. Having also related it to having a reawakening of my senses i can fully see what you mean by seeing things from a child's perspective. I believe as we get older we delop filters in viewing our reality created by our egos. Mushrooms, for me at least, expanded my conciousness and permanetly altered my perception so that every time i am confronted by negativity or ignorance i realise that i must see this as a test to my strength in letting others see my positivity and hope that the subtle lesson will bring them eventually to a higher level of learning in our spiraling asencion unto enlightenment. I could go on forever being that this is my frist post but for now i will take a breather. On one more note, i know if a lot of you trippers are like me you must get frustrated every once in a while with the general lack of empathy and peace in the world right now. My humble advice- let it go! There will come a day when all will see the light through the darkness so just smile and wave.
PEACE LOVE HARMONY

That is an awesome story indeed, Glacius.  This summer you'll have to take me for a little hike to the place you described.

P.S.  Were you baked when I dropped off those pictures?  You didn't seem too talkative.   Did you try the 'sample' yet?

Scratcher: I'll definetly take you to the field! It's amazing. We just call it "the feild" because not very many other ones compare to this one. Were all a bunch of nature loving hippies around here so ya got to appreceate the feilds:)

I forgot to mention some very intense moments in this trip. Before we headed back from the river valley, we attempted to cross the rail road tracks. BAD IDEA!! We got onto them and saw one of those trucks coming, that have the wheels on them for the railroad(you know the ones). just an ordinary truck, altered for use on the railway. Needless to say, we were scared shitless, and ran off the tracks, and away ASAP!! And also, before we went to the small creek valley, we stopped by the big feild, exept to the right and sat on those big hills I was explaining that are to the right of the feild. I remember my friend joking around and saying"whoa, someone is changes the color dials in my head"!!

I remember muttering to him:"I'm glad I'm not one of those idiots"!! "I'm glad I'm not like all the stupid people"etc. It was quite comical.
Remember that little open area with the cracks that we went too?? Well here is when we noticed the cracks. They formed a weird pattern, and we were like"hey!! thats where we were there not too long ago!! We sat there for a while with the most amazing visuals. Everything just fit together perfectly. We could see everything!!
