Lowest temp of colonisation?

I've read it has to be 75-85 but my normal room temp is 70 and it would be so much easier to just keep it that way. My question is, has anyone had success colonizing at that temperature or am I just going to have to bear the heat? (Heating pads and other crap are not an option as my only outlet is in constant use already)

will be fine but not great that's all. optimal temp is optimal speed.

well... maybe i should be more specific. it will grow fine but slower. the higher temp will make it grow faster and the time between colonization and fruiting will decrease with the increase in temp.

I've colonized at 70 before. As said, it just takes a bit longer. If you don't have very many jars, you might try putting them in a cardboard box to help hold in the natural heat produced by the mycelium. RR

If you don't have the option of using some kind of heat source...
put the jars into a box, and put them on top of your frig, or freezer, or your hot water heater. the heat from these will help speed up your colonization time.
