shortwave is something a small boat makes, and particle is the stuff cheap boards are made of...

wave vs. particle.. a particle, from my undestanding, is just a single packet of energy... a wave is energy moving in a set pattern with both amplitudes and altutides.. its a set motion that depending on its frequency (how fast it repeats itself) will produce different types of energy and/or sound
hope this helped a bit.. i still dont really understand what u were asking but sure

Sounds like you're thinking about something to do with quantum mechanics.
I'll use an example that I understand (since quantum mechanics is stuff that even a 4th year doesn't exactly comprehend fully)...
Light is a wave, but it's made of particles. These particles are called photons. Light is both a wave, and a particle... the particles are discreet packets of energy composed of a segment of the wave. Each little particle, or peice of the wave, is equal to a set amount of energy, in this case, one photon.
To be honest, I think this makes jack shit sense... if light is both a wave AND a particle, then maybe we should just call it a completely different third thing, instead of calling it both. If we gave it a separate designation, it would be a lot easier for people to wrap their minds around it.

> To be honest, I think this makes jack shit sense...
Welcome to the world of quantum mechanics. It makes sense on paper if you understand the math behind it, sort of. It does not make sense from a macroworld intuitive standpoint. Quantum mechanics is about as counter-intuitive as you can get.
> Light is both a wave, and a particle...
A particle with zero mass. It behaves as both a wave and a particle.
> it would be a lot easier for people to wrap their minds around it.
Unfortunately, vocabulary is not the issue with understanding in this case. If it were easy to understand, the world would be full of starving physics majors rather than starving artists.
> then maybe we should just call it a completely different third thing, instead of calling it both.
The difficulting in wording comes when the physics professionals try to dumb down quantum to a level the rest of us can understand. Inventing new words wouldn't help.

very well put seuss... its all about the math when it comes to quantum mechanics.. id just recommend getting on google and typing in quantum mechanics and see what you turn up, that will probably provide a much better understanding for you
