Quick LC question.

How do you measure the honey? I try using the actual Tbsp measurer but the honey doesn't all come off the spoon; it's too thick. Is there a way to eyeball it more accurately or is it just a guessing thing?

I use a regular table spoon. Since not all spoons are alike, and some of the honey always stays on the spoon, I don't have any accurate measurement. And it works fine. If you really wanna get accurate, you can use other methods: * Measuring with a syringe an pressing all the honey out. * Use a container of a some sort (lets say, a bottle cap), measure its volume using water (V1), then use that container to measure the honey. Now your container has a small amount of honey that won't come off easy (V3). How do you measure this? Simply check how much water can you add to the container until it is full (V2) - the volume of the water is the volume of the honey that has left the container. V1 - V2 = V3 Hope I'm clear on this one.

IME, you don't need to be EXACT with your measurements. My best LC's are usually the ones that I put extra karo or honey into.

If you must be 100% accurate, add your honey into the water when it's very hot. Hot tap water will suffice. The hot water will help the honey dilute right off the measuring spoon. You're going to PC after you're done mixing anyways, so experiment a little.

I think some of my honey may have carmelized. I see what looks to be 2 clear, thin flake looking things inside floating around right after PC'ing. I PC'ed at 15psi for 30 min, but I think I may have left it on high too long before lowering the heat to medium. Is this LC ruined or is there still enough good honey to make the LC take off?
