contams and dreads

my friend has dreads, he was wondering(even though he washes them everyday) if contams are going to be a bigger problem, since you cant effectivley wash "all" the hair, just mainly the outside of it. his dreads are pretty long, so what do you think he outta do? should he sterilize a shower cap to where when working with shrooms, or is not a issue as long as the hands are clean? anyone here have dreads and know anything about this? he just wants his first batch ever to be safe.

well all ya do is brush em out, and then wash em, and then dread them wehn your done working with the shrooms.. DUH! :smile:

Um well hmmm Ive heard that your body IS the most dangerous thing to get your shroomies contaminated, however I think if he just wears a hat or something I think he would be ok...

i have dreads, i just pull them back when i work with the little guys, i also work over the oven, and your friend should wash his hair at least 4 times a week anyways if he wants nice healthy dreads and a girlfriend. ;o)

yeah washing IS extremly imparitive...everyday for me, with dread shampoo.

well just as i figured, one more thing i dont need to worry about! terrific

Dude goes months on end w/o washing his dreads, and he has a beautiful girlfriend too... :smile:

When he is doing anything shroom related, he puts them up in his rasta cap, takes a shower and leaves them up. No problems.

Every few days, I put Kumba in them. It smells kind of like peppermint. I've only had them for about 18 mos or so, and they're still not quite ready to be able to be washed very often yet. What kind of shampoo do you get for dreads? And where? Maybe I'll pick some up and try it out...

ive heard of people that havent washed their hair for 5 years!!! they must stink bad.
however i've also known people that just use scented inscence oil, and spirnkle it on their heads.

check out this website www.dreadheadhq.com its got the shampoo as well as some other stuff that might help them lock up. my friend is has natural dreads, so washing every day is not only the clean thing to do, but helps them lock up faster, go check out that site, they even have a message board of dread heads, that can probably answer any question ever about dreads.
